As part of Victims and Survivors of Crime Week 2019, SACE will host an event exploring sexual violence justice support in Edmonton, featuring speaker Adora Nwofor, comedian and activist.
The evening will outline the supports available in Edmonton for people who are navigating, or considering navigating, the justice system. Brief introductions to the new or revamped services offered at the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton (SACE), Elizabeth Fry Society, University of Alberta Sexual Assault Centre, and Saffron Centre will be given. This will be followed by a talk on how to support survivors by a SACE Public Educator. Finally, we will hear from Calgary’s Adora Nwofor. Adora’s activism and critical lens mixed with with her sharp humour and levity make her a compelling and inspiring voice.
At the event we will also launch a new collaborative print resource outlining the police, court, and legal support services available in Edmonton for people who have experienced sexual violence. Copies will be provided to agencies to make available after the event.
Food and ASL interpretation will be provided, and volunteers will be available for anyone needing additional information or support.
This event is part of Survivors and Victims of Crime Week 2019. Tickets are free and only 100 spots are available, so get your ticket today here.
